How a run works

Each round shows two cities side by side with their names hidden until you choose. The question is always the same: which city has the higher crime index?

A correct pick extends your streak and loads the next matchup. One incorrect pick ends the run immediately. There is no second chance on that daily attempt.

What crime index means here

Rankings come from the World Crime Index public dataset (CC0). The index is a compiled score meant to compare relative safety between cities. It is a statistical snapshot, not a live crime map or personal safety guarantee.

• Indexes can be outdated or incomplete for some cities.
• Higher index = worse score in this game mode.

Daily reset

Matchup sequences are seeded by UTC date. Your best streak is what counts on the completion screen.

Data source

City names and crime-index values are taken from the World Crime Index dataset on Kaggle (CC0 1.0 Universal). CrimeGuesser adds presentation and daily selection logic only.
